The season gets started in style with a tour de force of symphonic masterworks, highlighted by the Louisville Orchestra debut of one of the world’s leading musical sensations, violinist Joshua Bell.  Known for his soulful recording on the Oscar®-winning soundtrack to The Red Violin, Bell has enchanted audiences worldwide with his breathtaking technique and opulent tone inspired by his 1713 Stradivarius.

Jorge Mester leads a “world tour” for our Fanfara guests as the Orchestra visits ports of call in the U.S., France, Scotland, Germany and Italy, with a few surprises along the way.

Fanfara has become the most anticipated week of the musical year in Louisville.  Orchestra ensembles appear throughout the region for the week preceding the Orchestra’s season opener, and guests are invited to attend our black-tie Gala dinner atop the Humana building prior to the concert and be heralded by the University of Louisville marching band as they proceed to their seats at the Kentucky Center for this unforgettable night of magical music making.  Reserve your seats now for this exciting opening debut to the new sparkling season!
