Bob Bernhardt, Principal Pops Conductor
Bob Bernhardt leads the Louisville Pops Orchestra in an evening of show tunes direct from Broadway in this jazzy concert featuring vocalists Hugh Panaro and Patty Globe. Selections for the evening will include music by Leonard Bernstein, Cole Porter, and Andrew Lloyd Weber. Pieces will include selections from Oklahoma, 42nd St, Guys and Dolls, Chicago, West Side Story and many other Broadway hits!
Hugh Panaro recently performed with Barbra Streisand in her latest European Concert tour. He most recently starred on Broadway in the title role of Elton John’s latest Broadway show Lestat, based on Anne Rice’s works. Prior to Lestat Mr. Panaro was performing the title role in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. Mr. Panaro is one of the few actors to play both Raoul (1991) and the Phantom (1999) in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera, but after wearing the mask for only a few months, he was chosen to play the title role in the American premiere of Sir Cameron Mackintosh’s Martin Guerre. Patty Goble is delighted to be making her Louisville Orchestra debut. Usually Patty can be seen at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on Broadway performing the role of Jessica Cranshaw, a role she originated, in the new Kander and Ebb musical comedy Curtains starring David Hyde Pearce. Patty was also seen this past January at Carnegie Hall in the NY premiere of the controversial hit opera Jerry Springer starring Harvey Keitel. Her Broadway credits also include the original casts of The Woman in White, the Tony Award winning Musical Revivals of La Cage aux Folles and Kiss me Kate, and the critically acclaimed Ragtime. After the concert keep the music going with Jazzlites at The Jazz Factory. Present your Brown-Forman NightLites ticket stub for free admission and dinner and drink specials.
