CIRQUE CAPRICCIO SPONSORED BY COMMONWEALTH BANK

Cirque Capriccio with the Louisville Orchestra

Concert conducted by Jason Seber

This concert is programmed for family audiences and will be most enjoyed by patrons ages 5 and up; however, all are welcome to attend.  All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket.

Hear the Louisville Orchestra perform familiar and upbeat music like Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the BumbleBee, " Borodin's “Polovetsian Dances” and the theme from Chariots of Fire as acrobats perform amazing feats!

Acrobat acts include:

Tesseract – Performed on a unique structure, this award winning act combines highly technical acrobatics with smooth balancing, choreography and hilarious audience interaction.

Silk – Aerial silk is an exciting and sensuous act, a product of the new age of circus.  Performed as high as the venue allows, feats of strength, graceful figures, and exciting tumbles are executed by intertwining body and silk with the entire length of the fabric used as the stage.

Stack – One table, four chairs, two adventurous souls balancing on top.  The act evolves as chairs are stacked in continually higher and more complicated patterns putting spectators at the edge of their seats.  These chairs have been designed in a unique way, creating a new twist on a traditional act.

Teeterboard – Barely four feet, it’s one of the smallest functional teeterboards in existence.  Don’t let size deceive you however, this tiny package allows Peter & Ninon to take to the air performing flips and catches.

About Cirque Capriccio:

Cirque Capriccio is a creation from former Cirque du Soleil acrobats Peter Boulanger & Ninon Parent. Peter & Ninon began their careers at Montreal’s National Circus School where they met in 1988. From there they toured with Cirque du Soleil for two years before moving to Vancouver, B.C. to develop their unique apparatus, Tesseract. The audience learns how music and movement intertwine using a mix of acrobatics, ranging from the dramatics of the Tesseract act to the out right silliness of Teeterboard. Cirque Capriccio is designed to amaze and inspire audiences across all age groups.

Pre-concert activities sponsored by Family Allergy & Asthma:

Tumbling, the Balloon Man, a performance by The Louisville Youth Orchestra's Serenade Orchestra, and Meet the Musicians
