Inspiring Early Learning

Introducing Tunes & Tales, an exciting program crafted to bring the magic of music and storytelling to preschool classrooms across Louisville. Building on the success of Once Upon An Orchestra, a beloved program developed in partnership with the Louisville Free Public Library, Tunes & Tales aims to enrich early learning experiences for young students using music to support literacy education.

What is
Tunes & Tales?

Tunes & Tales is an innovative program designed for preschool classrooms, focusing on early childhood literacy and music appreciation. This unique educational experience brings live, interactive musical performances directly to the classroom, coupled with professional development for educators through the school year in moderate to low-income neighborhoods across Louisville. With the generous sponsorship of PNC Bank and in collaboration with Community Coordinated Childcare (4-C) and Louisville Head Start, Tunes & Tales provides young learners with engaging stories and musical performances that support school readiness and social-emotional development.

Early results show a 22% improvement in story recall and sequencing skills after participating in Tunes & Tales, with especially positive effects for neurodivergent students.
