Additional Info

The Louisville Orchestra returns to Freeman Lake Park for another memorable evening at the historic bandstand, one of the most beloved settings on the In Harmony Tour. Following record attendance last year, the Elizabethtown community once again welcomes the orchestra for a summer night of music by the lake.

This free outdoor performance features a program filled with orchestral showpieces and audience favorites. The evening begins with The Star-Spangled Banner and Bernstein’s lively Candide Overture, followed by the sweeping energy of Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8. Violinist soloist brings dazzling virtuosity to Vieuxtemps’ Souvenir d’Amérique.

The program also highlights Anthony R. Green’s A Love Letter to Scotland, a work connected to the Louisville Orchestra’s Creators Corps initiative. Unexpected musical twists appear throughout the evening, including a high energy interpretation of Grieg’s In the Hall of the Mountain King and the humorous PDQ Bach 1712 Overture. The concert concludes with the unmistakable opening theme from John Williams’ Star Wars.

Arrive early to enjoy local food trucks and the beautiful setting of Freeman Lake Park before the music begins. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and gather with friends and family for an evening of live orchestral music.

Admission is free and open to all. Registration is recommended to receive updates, weather alerts, and event information.
