Comprised of about 350 members and led by a 35-member board, the ALO raises money and resources to support the Louisville Orchestra, creates opportunities for youth music education and competition, and broadens the audience of the Louisville Orchestra throughout the region. Since 1944, the Association of the Louisville Orchestra (ALO) has contributed over $2.9 million to strengthen the Louisville Orchestra, bringing people together through a shared love of music. ALO’s A la Carte program invites the community to exclusive events—ranging from vibrant parties to curated tours—with every ticket supporting the orchestra’s mission. Additional contributions come from Dine & Donate pop-ups at local restaurants and Remember with Music tribute gifts, all dedicated to nurturing music education and inspiring young people across the region.
Hosted by the ALO since 1944, young musicians compete each fall for the opportunity to perform as guest soloists with the Louisville Orchestra.
The ALO provides lunches for the Louisville Orchestra musicians during the MakingMUSIC concerts for 4th and 5th graders in the area.
