Tirso Oriol Duarte Lescay (April 12, 1978 – September 29, 2023) was a Cuban singer, composer, pianist, and music arranger. He studied at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory and joined Pachito Alonso's group. Before creating his own group, he played with NG La Banda under the direction of José Luis Cortés, alias El Tosco, and with La Charanga Habanera de David Calzado. He also sings with the famous group Pupy y Los Son, Son. Tirso Duarte is the author of famous songs such as Charanguero Mayor, La Vecina and Riqui Rincón. While leading his own group, Tirso Duarte y la Sonoridad, he is also a member of the Afro-Cuban All-Stars, under the direction of Juan de Marcos González. He also played and sang in the film Música cubana. 

On September 26, 2023, during a tour of his concert, he was injured in Tumaco, Nariño in Colombia, during confusing events, and transferred to a hospital in Pasto, due to the severity of his injuries. He died shortly after, on September 29, 2023, after a significant head injury despite the efforts of doctors.
