A Concert of Remembrance and Healing

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg and the Louisville Orchestra will present a free tribute concert for the community following the tragic loss of UPS Airlines Flight 2976. This program is intended to honor the memory of those who lost their lives on November 4, 2025—the UPS pilots and the Grade A Auto Parts employees and customers. We gather not just to mark their passing, but to remember the unique lives they lived and the profound absence their loss leaves in the hearts of their families, friends, and colleagues.

The free concert is available to all community members and will take place this Thursday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m. in Whitney Hall at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. Doors will open at 6:00PM. Admission is free, tickets are not required. Seating is general admission first come, first serve and subject to venue capacity. Registration does guarantee you a seat but signs you up to receive more details and information related to the event.

“This has been an incredibly difficult time for our community, and nobody should have to go through it alone,” said Mayor Greenberg. “We’re grateful to Teddy Abrams and the Louisville Orchestra for this opportunity to honor those we’ve lost, recognize the bravery of our first responders, and mourn together as one community.”

“Music brings comfort, healing, community, and belonging when it is most needed,” says Louisville Orchestra Music Director, Teddy Abrams. “Our entire region has been affected by this tragedy, and the Louisville Orchestra felt compelled to offer our music as a gesture of support to the city of Louisville, the UPS community, and to the first responders who acted with such bravery. We hope this program provides a moment of reflection and solidarity for the city of Louisville.”

The works selected for the concert offer space for reflection, remembrance, and shared resilience. The program brings together pieces that are both contemplative and uplifting, from the quiet sorrow of Barber’s Adagio to the strength and dignity expressed in Copland’s Fanfare and the timeless comfort of Amazing Grace.

“We are very grateful to the Louisville Orchestra and Teddy Abrams for offering this concert to the community, honoring the memory of those who were lost in the accident, and helping begin the healing process for the city. We’ve been humbled by the outpouring of support as we and all of Louisville cope with this tragedy,” UPS Airlines President Bill Moore said.

The concert is free to attend and the city will provide free parking for the concert in the PARC Riverfront Parking Garage at 141 North Sixth Street. Those planning to attend are encouraged to RSVP.

This event is in collaboration with Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts.
