What do you enjoy most about performing with the Louisville Orchestra?

Oboe is the best instrument in the orchestra , it was blessed by composers throughout history with the most beautiful, soulful, masterly crafted melodies that anyone ever wrote. From Beethoven's "Eroica" to music of Wagner and Strauss. Do not miss the Alpine Symphony this season!

In what ways do you think the Louisville Orchestra can make the greatest impact on our community?

I think our Music Director is doing fantastic job with guiding the orchestra to make its best impact. I think we could have more concerts to bring even more beautiful and exiting music to our audiences.

What is your favorite type of orchestral music to perform, and why?

I love playing the classics, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Brahms, Mahler, Strauss. Because of orchestration, harmony, very well thought out compositions you can almost always find some "new" things in the music, even if you have played the piece countless times.

Who is your favorite composer or musician?

Mstislav Rostropovich. I feel so greatful that I was lucky to play for him one on one very early in life, his wisdom is very relevant to my career to this day.

Do you have a Louisville Orchestra or event that is especially meaningful or memorable?

Playing with Yo-Yo Ma in the Mammoth Cave was surreal experience.

What are some things that inspire you as a musician?

Other musicians, teachers, mentors and a good pizza.

What do you love most about being part of the Louisville community?

    Great people and great restaurants.

What’s something unique, surprising, fun, or interesting about you?

I ride an electric skateboard to work. Clean energy and it's fun.

What are some of your hobbies outside the LO?

I make oboe reeds, bake, cook, go to gym. Recently, I have been wakeboarding.
