What do you enjoy most about performing with the Louisville Orchestra?
Every week is a new adventure, due to the extreme variety of the music we play! One week it's a Mahler Symphony, next week it's a Harry Potter film live to picture, then we're off on tour playing Ride of the Valkyries, world premieres by the LO Creators Corps composers, and rocking out with bluegrass superstar Michael Cleveland... it keeps the job fresh!
In what ways do you think the Louisville Orchestra can make the greatest impact on our community?
By offering something for everyone and meeting our communities where they are. It's important to present orchestral masterpieces on the stage of the Kentucky Center and to do it as well as possible. But what the LO understands so well is the importance of doing what we do for communities throughout our city and throughout the Commonwealth that don't have the same access to orchestral music, for any number of reasons including financial and geographical ones. With series like Music Without Borders, the In Harmony Tour, and others, that's exactly what we're doing!
