Louisville Orchestra Launches Next Chapter of In Harmony Tour With Six New Kentucky Stops
LOUISVILLE, KY. (July 22, 2026) | Fueled by a renewed $3.2 million investment from the Kentucky General Assembly, the Louisville Orchestra’s In Harmony, The Commonwealth Tour will bring free orchestral performances and community programming to six Kentucky communities during September 2026 and February 2027.
The Orchestra will perform in Elizabethtown, Frenchburg and Bardstown this September, followed by concerts in Cadiz, Greenville and Henderson in February. Registration is now open for the three September performances. Registration for the February concerts will open at a later date, and audiences may sign up now to be notified when reservations become available.

The September tour will be led by conductor Gabriel Lefkowitz and will feature a new collaboration with Kentucky pianist, composer and recording artist Kory Caudill.

Caudill, a native of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, is known for work that draws from classical, country, folk and Appalachian musical traditions. His featured set with the Louisville Orchestra will celebrate Kentucky’s musical heritage while creating a new collaboration specifically for audiences across the Commonwealth.
The approximately hour-and-a-half concert will feature an exciting mix of orchestral favorites, contemporary music and Kentucky artistry.
Audiences will hear the vibrant rhythms of Arturo Márquez’s Conga del Fuego Nuevo, the soaring heroism of John Williams’ Superman March and Leonard Bernstein’s Overture to West Side Story. The program also includes Percy Grainger’s Molly on the Shore, the Intermezzo from Pietro Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana, the March from Jean Sibelius’ Karelia Suite and Together by composer Susanna Hancock.
In Harmony February 2027 Tour Stops
The Louisville Orchestra will return to western Kentucky in February for three concerts led by Music Director Teddy Abrams. Each free concert will feature a 90-minute program, with repertoire and additional details to be announced.

The six new tour stops follow a renewed $3.2 million investment from the Kentucky General Assembly to continue the In Harmony Tour through 2028. The latest allocation brings the General Assembly’s total investment in the initiative to $11.8 million, making the Commonwealth the largest single funder in Louisville Orchestra history.
The continued support allows the Orchestra to bring free performances, education programs and community partnerships directly to Kentuckians, removing geographic and financial barriers to live orchestral music while creating opportunities for communities to gather, learn and celebrate their local identities.
Launched in 2022, the In Harmony Tour has grown into one of the most ambitious and sustained orchestral touring initiatives in the state. To date, the tour has reached more than 59,000 Kentuckians across 55 counties through 243 events.
Those efforts include 47 full-orchestra concerts in 28 counties, reaching more than 39,000 audience members, along with 196 community partnership events across 66 unique ZIP codes, serving more than 20,000 additional participants.
In Harmony extends far beyond each evening concert. At every tour destination, the Louisville Orchestra develops partnerships tailored to the needs and character of the community. Programs may include classroom visits, interactive student performances, Once Upon an Orchestra programs at local libraries, small ensemble concerts and collaborations with local artists, businesses and community organizations.
Together, these performances and partnerships create meaningful access to the arts, support education, strengthen community connections and ensure that Kentuckians can experience their orchestra in the places they call home.
